Salam,
All I can say is that, we are all helpless when it comes to Natural Disaster. Have we ever wonder that its not science that is doing all this to the world? Its not a science experiment neither it is a geography lesson of two plates of the world collide. It is way bigger than that. There are so many unexplainable things in this world. Some as what we are taught of are "Science" But how much truth is it to it.
My prayers are to those sacred lives in Japan.
Lastly, in light of the today events and the date today, I referred to surah Al-Imran Ayat 11.
3:11 Like Pharaoh's folk and those who were before them, they disbelieved Our revelations and so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in punishment.
and also Surah Hud Ayat 3
11:3 And (commanding you): "Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding Grace to every owner of grace (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, and even with good words). But if you turn away, then I fear for you the torment of a Great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).
